Makenzie continues to amaze us daily. She is so smart and always has something to say about everything. Makenzie and I typically have breakfast together every morning before anyone else gets out of bed. It’s a sweet time to talk – and yes, we actually have real conversations. This morning, I pulled out my Bible to do our quiet time – we’re going through James. Before I even started reading, she says, “It’s gonna be about Jesus.” I looked at her and laughed and said “that’s right – the Bible is all about Jesus.” It’s so much fun to see her starting to understand what we’re teaching her.
A few days ago, we were packing our bags to go to church. Makenzie had her little purse and was putting her “Bible study” (that is what she calls her Bible) into it – she wants to be just like mom – Ha! I asked her what does your Bible study say? She responded quickly – “God loves me.”
Although Dustin and I teach her about the Bible at home, I’m so thankful for her Sunday school teachers that also spend time with her weekly, loving on her and explaining God’s love to her! Thanks so much to Ms. Ashley and Mrs. Becky – I know you’re making an eternal impact on Makenzie, not only by what you teach, but through your actions. We love you and Makenzie loves you!
Macy had her 9 month appointment this afternoon. She is getting so big and did amazing when the doctor was checking her out. She is a healthy 23 lbs 6 oz. of pure love! The doctor said she is doing amazing and should be crawling before we know it. How awesome is it that God has blessed Dustin and I with 2 amazingly healthy and beautiful girls! We love it!
Great article on recovering from a long run!
Just a little tribute to the most amazing husband in the world! Holy cow, he does it all! He wears so many hats: Follower of Christ, husband, daddy, youth pastor, counselor (unofficially), student, teacher, leader, overseer, graphic designer, son, brother, uncle, friend, encourager…I could go on and on. With all those relationships and responsibilities, he never ceases to amaze me. He always finds time to make the girls and myself such a priority. In the midst of studying for his comprehensive exams, he took care of Kiki and Maymay for 3 hours yesterday so I could go run with a friend. He just tells me that he appreciates how I take care of our family all the time, so if I want to go run with a friend, it’s the least he could do. Wow..talk about feeling loved and appreciated. If more husbands took care of their wives like mine takes care of me, this world would be a changed place.
So Dustin, thanks a million for always being my D-Man, He-Man! I love you!
