Those are the words of “Rick the digger” aka the man digging our basement. We were a little concerned about hitting rock, but as Rick started and finished the job, he said it was the easiest basement dig he has done! Praise the Lord. Here are a few picture of us in our new basement. Makenzie loved it and Macy sat happily in her little car. So much fun. Oh, and we met our first neighbor. Hooray!
I wanted to add some pictures of our girls, since I haven’t posted about them in awhile. Macy is crawling all over the place and is into everything. She is just about the happiest, sweetest baby I’ve ever seen. She loves life and loves her big sister – and Dora. Makenzie is keeping me busy as always. She is so smart and says some of the funniest things. Here are a few of our recent funny saying:
Mommy, I wiped my boogers on Nana’s rug.
Get the dirty off my chip!
AHHHH my sucker my sucker!
Yeah! We finally closed on our mortgage and are officially landowners as of 2 pm on Monday, March 16th! Hooray! Here are a few pictures of us putting our sign in the yard. This is so much fun! Thanks Debbie Coyle for watching the girls so we could do our closing! You’re the best – we love you and our girls love you!
Well, it’s official. We’re embarking on one amazing journey as we begin to build our first house. We have been incredibly blessed to have always lived in a church residence for the first 6 years of our marriage. We’ve brought both our girls home to live in a church house and it has been so much fun living right next to Highview East, watching the church being build literally from the ground up.
I’m writing because I want to document this journey and never forget all the hard work, love and time we (us, extended family and friends) all put into this project. We have a few people we want to acknowledge as we get started.
First, of course, to our amazing God who has continually blessed our marriage and our home. We acknowledge that it is because of Him that we have gotten where we are today. We desire to make our home a place where we can minister to our children, family and friends. Our continued prayer is that we would see our home not as our own, but that it would be used to grow the Kingdom of God through loving, encouraging and caring for all who walk through our doors.
We are indebted to my dad for providing all his expertise, advice, vast knowledge, time, commitment and love he’s shown us already and we’re only just beginning. To my mom who has been so wonderful to provide such amazing advice, only when asked of course! Lastly, to our friends who have already offered so much encouragement, willingness to help and baby-sit the girls when needed. We love you all!
It is truly a dream come true to have my dad helping up build this house in wonderful Stone Lakes. We officially gave our deposit on lot 361 on February 28th, 2008. We’re finalizing a few things with the bank and hope to start digging the basement towards the end of March. I’ll continue to post photos and updates as we look forward to moving in late summer, early fall 2008!
