We’ve found a new family tradition – the Memorial Day “Hike and Bike” – a 15 mile scenic bike through Louisville!

This morning, we got up early, packed a lunch, our bikes, the bike trailer and the girls of course and headed to waterfront park to meet some great friends, Zack, Allison (also Fez in the basket) and Ben for a 15 mile bike around Louisville. The weather was amazing and the company even better! I don’t think any of us had expected to have so much fun!  We had a blast guys – mark your calendar for next year! Here are a few pictures from our adventure! I think Makenzie’s had the most fun afterward, running around with Fez! She loves that dog! Today we took a little family trip to Huber’s with some of our favorite people, the Albertsen’s and Tipton’s, to pick strawberries. To our surprise, the parking lots were empty – strawberry season has been postponed because of the colder weather we’ve had in Louisville.  We had so much fun despite the fact that we didn’t get any yummy strawberries. Instead, we had a great picnic lunch by the pond, fed the fish and ducks, got some homemade ice cream and wondered around the farm. The kids were adorable – I’ve included pictures of them in the old truck that they all loved! Today was so much fun! I’m so thankful for bright, sunny spring weather!

Thanks to my wonderful brother-in-law Nick and his sweet girlfriend Autumn, I found something that has revolutionized my life – seriously!  For my birthday, they got me a gift card to Lowe’s.  I was wondering around the store, trying to find something really cool to buy and there it was – the Shark EP604 Retractor Convertible Lightweight Stick Vacuum.  This is a must have for every mom of a toddler – seriously.  It is small, powerful and you don’t have a giant cord to wrap up every time you use it.  The current price elsewhere is between $50 – $80, but Lowe’s had it on sale for $35.  What a deal!  It works great in the kitchen and on carpet.  So treat yourself – throw away your broom and get this awesome little vacuum!

I admit, I am so excited about our new house – I like to go there at least once a day to see what’s been done.  We went again last night and to my surprise they had our fireplace installed!  It is so pretty!  I haven’t posted pictures b/c our camera broke.  Here is what it currently looks like – they’ll be doing roofing this week and brick the following!  We’re looking like we’ll be moving in earlier than expected!  Yeah!

One of the things I’m really looking forward to in our new house is the girls having their own rooms! I love that they share a room right now, but nap time can sure get interesting around here. Macy basically laughs at ANYTHING Makenzie does and of course that just gets Makenzie going. Today, almost an hour into nap time (no one was sleeping yet) I heard Macy belly laughing. I walk in to see the picture below. Makenzie is saying, “You like my hat Macy?” Ha! I had to take a picture! The things a 2 1/2 year old comes up with, I LOVE IT!

Here are a few pictures of us running the marathon – unfortunately our camera broke so I’ll have to get some finish line pictures from Shannon..

We\'re on our way - so excited!Coming out of Cherokee Park around mile 18 - still feeling great!Heading downtown - around mile 21 probably!
